Bill Arnold is currently the NMIF Vice President.  Previously, he served in various positions, including the President, on the National Military Intelligence Association since approximately 2000.

 

Mr. Arnold has over 40 years of combined active military duty and private industry experience supporting the Defense and Intelligence communities. He spent nearly half of those years living and working overseas and supporting military and contractor activities. Mr. Arnold served 27 years on active duty and retired as a Colonel with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI). During that time, he served in a number of continental US (CONUS) and outside CONUS (OCONUS) command and counterintelligence positions and was also a Senior Inspector with the AFOSI’s Inspector General Team.   

Mr. Arnold culminated his Air Force career as a senior intelligence staff officer at the U.S. European Command Headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany.  During his tour there, Mr. Arnold participated in the planning and launching of 13 major operations involving the deployment of U.S. forces to Africa, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East.

 

Following his retirement from the Air Force, Mr. Arnold focused his attention on Defense contracting and specialized in system and operational architecture development, business development, and program management. From 2005 to 2011, Mr. Arnold was the Executive Vice President for Operations at SOS International, Ltd. (SOSi), a privately-owned global management firm that provides a broad spectrum of intelligence, counterintelligence, linguist, operational and technical support services to Government and commercial clients in the U.S. Defense, Intelligence and Law Enforcement sectors.  Prior to joining SOSi, Mr. Arnold was a senior program manager at Lockheed Martin. He managed nearly a dozen contracts involving defense intelligence and counterintelligence activities in the CONUS, Germany, Bosnia, Kosovo, Italy, Iraq and Qatar.

 

Mr. Arnold holds a Master of Arts degree in Asian Studies from the University of Arizona and a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from the George Washington University.  He also has formal language and cultural training in German, Vietnamese and Korean.  He is married to the former Anne-Marie Kalt and they have one grown son.
